About Fairview
Fairview Elementary School is one of two elementary schools in District 57. We are located in the town of Mount Prospect, fifteen miles west of Lake Michigan. Our school houses approximately 420 students in grades 2-5. Our staff consists of 66 individuals ranging from teachers, specials teachers, literacy coaches, support service providers and instructional aides, a computer technician, secretaries, a nurse, custodial staff, Kids’ Corner staff, and the Principal. We believe that students come first and what we do matters! We are Fairview strong! |
*Summer Office hours are:
8:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday
8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Fridays.
The lunch hour will vary due to meetings.
The office will be closed July 5-16.
*New Families & Student Enrollment:
New families can enroll into District 57 at the Administration Building on
Gregory Road (behind the school). Please reserve the morning of
August 10, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., to ensure that the screening
assessments can be given to your child. Classroom placement cannot be
made until this assessment takes place. Our screening center will be
here at Fairview Elementary School. You will receive a phone call or
letter prior to August 10 with an exact testing time. Welcome!
*School Tours:
School tours for new students will take place August 16 at 11:00 a.m.
and 6:00 p.m. for all interested students and families. These tours
will entail an informal walk around with Principal Jordan and offer
parents and students a chance to ask questions. No reservations are
required just drop by! Tours will last approximately 20 minutes and
will start in the foyer at door #1, Main Entrance.
*Class Lists:
Class lists will be posted online in August. Notice and passwords
will come via email for families already in our computer system. We
will still post class lists in the foyer at FV School on August 16,
1:00-6:00 p.m. for those without internet access.
*Supply Pick-Up:
Pre-ordered student supplies can be picked up at Fairview School, in
the multi-purpose room, on August 16, 1:00-6:00 p.m.
*New FV Staff Members:
Please welcome our new art teacher, Melissa Scholl. Jessica St. Denis
will be teaching 4th grade during Mrs. Garman’s one-year leave, as
well. We have also welcomed Filipe Hernandez to our maintenance team! |

Fairview Wins the NCLB National Blue Ribbon Award!
Recently Fairview received an email from the U.S. Dept of Education indicating that Secretary Margaret Spellings had designated Fairview
School as a 2008 No Child Left Behind – National Blue Ribbon School. Fairview is one of 320 schools to receive this award in 2008 for helping students to achieve at very high levels. Over the past 26 years this distinction has honored more than 5,800 schools in the United States.

Bright Red Apple Award
Fairview earns the Bright Red Apple Award from SchoolSearch, a company that offers relocating families information about schools. The Bright Red Apple award is based on five factors: academic performance, student-teacher ratio, expenditure per student, educational level of teachers, and average teacher salary. Only 81 Illinois school districts (out of 868 school districts) were honored with the award this year for striving to provide their students with an outstanding educational environment. Way to go Fairview! |
